If you’ve been putting off your sweep, now’s the time to schedule, before the holiday rush. Our team specializes in the quirks of pre-1950s masonry, so we’ll spot issues like cracked liners or mortar deterioration that generic sweeps might miss. Book your San Francisco chimney sweep appointment today to secure your spot.
Why older SF chimneys with clay liners need extra care before the first cold snap
San Francisco’s older homes, think Victorian row houses in the Mission or Craftsman bungalows in the Sunset, often have chimneys with unique challenges. Brickwork can degrade faster due to salt air and moisture, while older liners may crack under stress. A fall sweep isn’t just about creosote removal; it’s a chance to inspect for hidden damage before winter fires. If your chimney hasn’t been cleaned since last year, or if you’ve noticed white powder (efflorescence) on the bricks, schedule now. What happens when we show up for a job on a Fillmore District brick stack
Our San Francisco chimney sweeps take 60–90 minutes, depending on the chimney’s height and condition. We’ll use brushes and vacuums to remove buildup, then inspect the liner, joints, and crown for wear. For homes with gas fireplaces or pellet stoves, we’ll check venting too. Pricing varies by chimney type, brick masonry often costs more than prefab systems, but we’ll give you a clear estimate upfront. See our pricing guide for San Francisco to get an idea of what to budget. And if you’re in Daly City or Oakland, we cover those areas too. Check our service zones to confirm we’re near you.
